What You’ll be doing:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a qualified senior clinician who is keen to make a real difference, through provision of critical incident support, psychological assessment and intervention, and holistic and proactive health and wellbeing programs.
The Senior Psychologist role is an integral part of the Mental Health Services program within the RFS which includes Senior Psychologists, Psychologists, a Peer Support Program Coordinator, and Peer Support Officers. The Senior Psychologist and Psychologist positions deliver state-wide and area-based mental health prevention, promotion, intervention and recovery services to RFS staff and volunteers as well as support and guidance to RFS leadership and peer personnel. The role will require participation in a rotating on-call after-hours roster, ensuring that our team always has access to the care they need, whenever they need it.
The Senior Psychologist shares supervisory responsibility for the Psychologist in their Area with the Manager Mental Health Services. They also provide confidential and expert psychological services to RFS members, including complex clinical assessment, intervention, and referrals for mental health and support services, while also advising leaders on mental health risk management and contributing to the design and improvement of Service-wide psychological programs.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
* The ability to work as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary team.
* High level skills and experience in trauma-informed psychological assessment and interventions for people experiencing mental health concerns.
* The skills and ability to provide psychoeducation and/or mental health and wellbeing content in a group setting.
* Authorisation to clinically supervise provisional and/or early career psychologists (or are eligible for authorisation to do so).
* A genuine appreciation and understanding of a volunteer-based emergency service.
