Gordon Brothers is looking for an experienced professional to lead a team of senior plant and equipment valuers and asset disposition specialists. About the Role:
As a Senior Asset Sales & Valuations Specialist, you will manage and execute commercial plant and equipment asset trading deals, disposition projects, and valuations, primarily within the mining, construction, transport, and manufacturing sectors across existing corporate and insolvency clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
* Oversee end-to-end execution of asset trading and disposition projects, including:
* Compliance – Ensure WHS and licensing requirements are met.
* Marketing – Plan and implement targeted asset sales campaigns.
* Operations – Manage logistics, contractors, and security.
* Asset Sales – Handle buyer negotiations and transactions.
* Financial Management – Oversee invoicing, remittances, and reporting.
* Vendor & JV Partner Management – Strengthen relationships with clients and partners.
Valuations & Asset Inspections:
* Ensure successful completion of valuation projects, including:
* On-site asset inspections and audits.
* Valuation analysis – Conduct due diligence, data collection, and financial modelling.
* Market Research – Provide insights on industry trends and comparable transactions.
* Report Delivery – Develop insightful and commercially focused valuation reports.
* Client Management – Advise on asset conditions, depreciation, and marketability.
Performance & Risk Management:
* Manage workflow to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Ensure deals comply with approved Pro Forma and risk management standards.
* Maintain accurate regulatory and compliance records across all jurisdictions.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
* Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients.
* Attend business and networking events to drive growth opportunities.
* Utilize CRM tools to track activities and maintain accurate client records.
Leadership & Professional Conduct:
* Foster collaboration across internal teams and global networks.
* Demonstrate integrity, ethical behaviour, and a commitment to excellence.
* Effectively manage time, resources, and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
* 6+ years of experience in plant & machinery operations, asset management, or asset sales—preferably in mining, transport, or manufacturing.
* Proven experience in managing asset disposition projects.
* Experience in a fast paced, complex, deal-driven environment.
* Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Team player with strong drive for results, bias for action with superior analytical and time management skills.
* Proven strength in managing relationships to grow the business.
* Strong willingness to travel including company site visits to inspect and analyse machinery and equipment in person. Will typically include overnight and occasionally some weekend travel.
* Medium level of physical effort required including walking through large manufacturing/ warehouse/storage sites, frequent travel and hands-on assessment of equipment.
