As a WHS&E Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and managing health, safety and environmental systems to ensure compliance is maintained to a high standard. A successful candidate will be required to collaborate with all levels of the organisation to educate, recognise and manage WHS&E risks and ensure safe work practices are embedded and maintained. This role will report to the People and Culture Manager.
Your key duties will include:
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems).
* Maintain compliance documentation with all relevant Health, Safety, Environment and Quality statutory regulations.
* Schedule safety training, and toolbox talks and assist workers to ensure system improvements and corrective actions are implemented.
* Proven track record of maintaining ISO 45001 certification in an industrial setting.
* Manage all facets of workers’ compensation, including return-to-work plans, in conjunction with line managers and management.
* Complete WHS&E documentation for prequels and tenders and upload details for specific online databases as required for projects.
* Integrate WHS&E considerations into every phase of the design and construction process.
* Update, review and issue WH&S documentation following each project, including JSEA’s and SWMS.
* Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards.
* Design and deliver training programs to educate staff on ISO 45001 requirements and best practices.
* Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance and compliance status to management.
* Ensure the quality and timeliness of incident data and KPI reporting
* Prepare and submit reports to management as required.
About You:
You will collaborate with all levels of the organisation to educate, recognise and manage WHS&E risk. You should have solid experience in a similar position in addition to:
* Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident
* Minimum of 3-5 years of local experience in a similar position.
* Certificate IV or equiv. qualification in WH&S.
* Proven experience in Worker’s compensation (Return to Work coordination)
* Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office.
* Proven ability to make critical decisions and develop policies and procedures.
* Strong collaboration and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
* Highly organised and process-driven, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Demonstrated ability to work with and protect confidential information.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate outcomes without confrontation.
