The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced mechanical systems within buildings. You’ll manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the technical excellence of the team.
The Responsibilities
Designing Building Systems: Create mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in line with project goals.
Feasibility & Performance Analysis: Conduct studies and assessments to optimise efficiency and functionality.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into building plans.
Documentation & Specifications: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Installation & Compliance Oversight: Supervise installation, ensuring systems meet relevant codes and standards.
Technical Support & Guidance: Provide support and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and best practises to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
The Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
RPEQ or CPeng certified or eligible
At least 10 years of experience in building services consulting
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
