Aboriginal Homeless & Fringe Dweller Support Worker (MALE)
The purpose of this position is to provide for and meet immediate life sustaining needs of clients taking into account the client's wishes and perspectives. Where possible, seek ways to improve the shelter environmental circumstances of the cohort, considering cultural and lifestyle choices.
To be considered for this role, candidates will need a qualification in Community Services and/or experience in a similar position; the ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate individual needs; efficient and effective time management skills; highly developed written and verbal communication skills; and a deep and empathetic understanding of issues affecting ATSI people of the Goldfields.

* A qualification in Community Services or a proven commitment to issues surrounding homelessness with experience working with vulnerable people;
* A thorough knowledge of and experience in homelessness;
* Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to relate well to staff and to liaise effectively with key stakeholders;
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cultural factors and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health;
* Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and a high level of accuracy;
* Sound skills in problem-solving and the ability to effectively determine priorities to ensure deadlines are met;
* Work effectively as a member of a team in an environment of competing priorities;
* Current Police Certificate (within 3 months) and Working with Children Check;
* Ability to work outside of normal business hours.
