Contract opportunity with a Local Council office to contribute to an established WHS team. Help lead the WHS management system and strategic plan. ABOUT THE COMPANY. Join an established WHS department, reporting to the Team Lead and Risk Manager and working alongside the Insurance and Support Officers. This role will see you working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the Council's offices, including supervisors, managers and the WHS Committee. ABOUT THE POSITION. Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of moving to a permanent contract. You'll be instrumental in the development, implementation and delivery of the WHS management system and strategic plan. The role will allow you to further your skills and understanding of WHS in the Public sector. DUTIES. Prepare general WHS reporting and statistics Development and improvement of WHS plans and strategies Investigate relevant incidents and claims Conduct safety training for Council managers and supervisors SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. Previous experience in a WHS-centric role Strong verbal and written communication Local Council experience preferred, but not essential Relevant Tertiary qualifications beneficial CULTURE.
