Job Description
Our team at Capcoal – Lake Lindsay in Middlemount QLD is seeking an experienced Communications Technician to undertake preventative maintenance and technical field support for the mine sites technology systems.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the ongoing installation & maintenance of communication systems across the mine site and ensure their day-to-day availability
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert to resolve priority issues
* Foster collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders across the site
* Respond to business-critical events as required
* Participate in safety processes as required including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and SOP reviews
Qualifications
* Certificate III in telecommunications Austel Licence with open endorsements in: Structured Cabling, Coaxial, Aerial
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy in from key stakeholders
* Ability to be adaptable in changing situations and able to step through the issue using your strong problem-solving skills
* Experience with communications technologies: Modular Mining systems, Cambium PTMP Network access points & links, P25 Digital two-way radio communication equipment (towers, repeaters), Omnitronics Systems Alto, Hexagon CAS systems on light and heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding, Level 9 Hexagon CAS on heavy vehicles, programming and fault finding, Breadcrumb systems (Rajant) which control the wireless mesh system (LAN), Ubiquiti wireless network point to point links Communication Systems across a range of equipment including draglines, excavators, haul trucks and light vehicles, Tyre sense fault finding and programming, Interrogation of Network switches, LTE System (4G Network)
