MelbourneWhat's this role about?Join our dynamic Melbourne team as we expand our capability in the energy/utilities sector.We are seeking a Laboratory Technical Manager/Engineer to oversee critical technical and metrological testing of water meters for our esteemed client.This opportunity is a fixed-term contract based on-site with our client and requires a September start.Key Responsibilities Conduct metrological tests on water meters.Document and summarise customer and laboratory testing, procedures, and outcomes.Perform preventive maintenance on test benches and equipment.Execute tasks as directed by the Laboratory Quality Manager.Notify management of any non-compliant work or anomalies.Ensure confidentiality and impartiality in test results for clients.Identify and specify samples for testing as required. What skills and experience do you need?Required Skills Proficiency in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9000 standards.Experience in quality management and relevant processes.Regulatory and practical knowledge of water meters and testing.Familiarity with Australian water meter standards such as NMI R49 and AS 3565-1.Fluency in English; French proficiency is advantageous.Mastery of audit techniques according to ISO 19011.Strong interpersonal and management skills.Degree or Diploma in instrumentation, mechanical engineering, or similar field. Additional Requirements This is a fixed-term contract based on-site at our client's office in Melbourne.September start is required.Australian citizenship is required.Regular travel to customer sites in Melbourne is expected.Occasional travel within Australia and internationally on an ad hoc basis.Availability for occasional after-hours work to coordinate with global teams is necessary.
