Our aged care facility is seeking a talented individual to join our team as an experienced chef or cook. The Position: We are currently seeking an experienced Chef / Cook to join our catering department at Eliza Purton in Ulverstone, Tasmania on a Casual basis. As a chef / cook in our facility, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. The chef / cook will work under the guidance of the Chef Manager to prepare, cook and serve nourishing, palatable and attractive in-house meals for residents which are consistent with the guidelines of the Food Safety Program. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care facility or similar environment. You should have a strong understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Applicants must be able to demonstrate: Previous experience in residential aged care or a similar commercial kitchen A relevant qualification A current national police certificate (or ability to acquire) to enable the individual to work in the aged care industry.
