The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a current processing capacity of 700 head of beef cattle per day, operating 6 days/week.About the RoleJBS Rockhampton is currently recruiting an experienced and professional Mechanical Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible for providing maintenance support across the plant as required.Your key responsibilities will include:Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended use.Ensuring all mechanical work is carried out to meet company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.Time management, task ownership and ability to work autonomously and in a team.Other responsibilities that may come up from time to time, such as working on projects.A $5,000 Sign-On bonus is available to applicable candidates. *Conditions apply.About YouFitter and Turner trade qualifications and post-trade experience (ideally a minimum of 2 years).Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.Previous experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills.A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices.Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures.Sound computer skills.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired.Ability to work shift work including rotating roster, day and afternoon shift.Why work for JBS Australia?Lifestyle roster; providing a good work/family life balance working an eight-week rotating shift cycle. 4 days per week – alternating day shift and afternoon shift.Onsite training provided including any role specific training required.Further advancement of your skills working on a wide range of equipment.Additional allowances available including; Attendance, Meat and Tool allowances.Health insurance discounts on Bupa Health and Medibank Private.
