The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.You will have strong experience in project engineering in rail systems and signalling, along with experience in real-time system engineering, testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices, and safety-critical techniques. Experience in turnkey projects (within rail signalling), particularly delivering systems such as ETCS, ERTMS, and CBTC, is highly desirable.Specialised responsibilities:Responsible for delivery of all TMS for the AllianceResponsible for the integration of the overall Alliance TMSKey responsibilities:Support Engineering Manager in preparing reports, attending technical meetings, and supporting technical activitiesImplement the technical solution within the assigned scopeMonitor document submission in terms of on-time delivery, quality, and respect of cost budget, according to the Contract, excluding RAMSExecute project technical activities in line with procedures, including design reviewEnsure that project objectives are clearly communicated to the project team and that technical activities are aligned with the project scheduleEnsure staffing, workload analysis, and resource allocation for specific activitiesPrepare, check, and submit TCNs. Once authorized, ensure that technical changes and variation orders are traced, implemented within design activities, and included in the project cost revisionEnsure project technical criticalities/risk list management is implemented, continuously updated, and evaluated with support from relevant managersManage document submission and transmittal processes as part of overall Design ManagementContribute to the configuration management processEnsure interface management for technical definition and construction document delivery during on-site activitiesGuarantee the execution of verification activities of project engineering documents and those issued by WPLs, according to the V&V PlanContribute to the definition and execution of T&C activities, acting as interface with other involved technology unitsPromote activities with a focus on continuous improvement and safetyKey knowledge and experience:Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with a background in Systems Engineering5+ years' experience in project management, ideally within rail systems and signallingExperience in real-time system engineering, testing, and integration, along with software verification, validation, and safety-critical techniquesEstimating and negotiation skillsAbility to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment with strong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in resource management and working with large teamsStrong relationships with technology providersAgile mindset, capable of making prompt decisions in a fast-paced environmentAt Hitachi Rail, we believe a diverse business is a sustainable business.
