Reporting to the Head of Research and Portfolio Construction, this role is responsible for the oversight and portfolio design of Rest's Structured Options to ensure the achievement of Member objectives. The role will also be responsible for contributing to asset allocation design enhancements and investment option differentiation, the oversight of asset class strategies, and the integration of ESG considerations across portfolios. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities Manage Rest's multi-sector options ensuring successful outcomes against portfolio objectives and providing recommendations on portfolio design. Develop and apply an oversight framework across asset class strategies to improve understanding of positioning and portfolio outcomes, supporting credible and effective challenge to each strategy. Develop and utilise a toolkit of monitoring tools across all multi-sector options, including internal and external systems. Contribute to the development of frameworks and analysis for the top-down integration and implementation of ESG considerations across portfolios. Research new asset classes and investment strategies to contribute to portfolio construction across Structured Options meeting the differentiated requirements of member cohorts. Contribute to the recommendation of strategic asset allocation across Structured Options, including working with internal stakeholders to develop fee, active risk, and liquidity budgets across options. Contribute to the enhancement of good governance and common methodologies in portfolio construction across all Options. Prepare investment papers including portfolio updates and outlooks for a range of internal stakeholders and committees. Contribute to the Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation Team's thought leadership on portfolio design enhancements. Qualifications Degree in Finance / Economics or Actuarial studies or equivalent and proven experience. CFA, CAIA or similar industry qualifications highly desirable. Required experience, understanding or credentials including: Significant demonstrable experience working in investment management, financial services or the superannuation industry. Strong fundamental knowledge of global investment markets and asset classes with application to portfolio construction. Experience in investing for a multi-asset portfolio. Proficiency with financial software and tools – Bloomberg, Factset, Python or similar. Knowledge of coding, e.g. Python, R, well regarded though not essential. Able to clearly communicate and form conclusions on portfolio positioning and risk.
