An exciting opportunity exists for a hardworking and self-motivated individual to join our City Maintenance, Civil Maintenance team.
You will be someone who is able to undertake civil maintenance operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, and to agreed quality standards. You will also be able to support the road maintenance, and road construction teams safely, and effectively direct traffic through and around designated work sites.
What can you bring to the team?
* Cert III in Civil Construction or previous relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment.
* Current unrestricted “MR” (medium rigid) class driver’s licence.
* White Card – Work safe in the construction industry.
* Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
* Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control.
* Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
* Be competent in the use of concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor, road making plant, general construction tools and equipment.
* Ability to undertake basic survey levelling and re-pegging.
* Knowledge and experience in kerbing, paving and concrete laying.
* Knowledge and experience in preparing concrete and paving surfaces.
* Experience in concrete repairs and installations.
* Experience in installing and repairing paving.
* Experience in installing and repairing kerbing.
* Safe operation and user maintenance of plant and equipment.
* Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
* Customer service and decision-making skills.
* Verbal and written literacy and numerical skills.
* Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
The finer details
This permanent full-time OSE Level 3 position has a salary of between $70,333 - $72,950 dependent on qualifications and experience. This position is located at the City’s Operations Centre, 93 Park Road, Mandurah.
