Job Opportunity: Payroll Processor with NDIS Plan Management & SCHADS Award Knowledge We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Processor with experience in NDIS Plan Management and a strong understanding of the SCHADS Award to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll while ensuring compliance with NDIS funding guidelines, employee entitlements, and SCHADS Award regulations. You will play a critical role in managing payroll functions and supporting the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
This role will see you take charge of managing NDIS funding, developing and maintaining Schedules of Supports, and ensuring that funding allocations align with participant needs and goals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that participants receive the services they are entitled to, while also supporting internal teams with funding management and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing Payroll processing: Process payroll for employees working under NDIS plans, ensuring accurate tracking of hours worked, service agreements, and participant funding.Payroll Processing: Administer end-to-end payroll for staff, ensuring correct pay, allowances, and deductions, and that payments are made accurately and on time.SCHADS Award Compliance: Interpret and apply the SCHADS Award provisions, ensuring all employees are classified correctly, and entitlements (e.g., pay rates, overtime, and penalty rates) are applied in line with award standards.Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records, including payslips, tax filings, superannuation contributions, and other required documentation.Employee Inquiries: Provide prompt and professional responses to payroll-related inquiries from staff, NDIS participants, and stakeholders.Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to relevant legislative requirements, including the Fair Work Act, NDIS regulations, and the SCHADS Award. Assist with audits and reporting as required.System Management: Utilise payroll software to manage data, process payments, and generate reports efficiently.NDIS Plan Management NDIS Funding Management: Oversee and manage the allocation of NDIS funding to ensure that participant budgets are appropriately spent, in line with NDIS plans and service agreements.Schedule of Supports (SoS) Development: Create, review, and maintain accurate Schedules of Supports for participants, ensuring that the supports outlined are consistent with NDIS funding guidelines and the participant's goals and needs.Funding Allocation: Monitor and track NDIS participant budgets, ensuring that services provided do not exceed allocated funding. Work with internal teams to adjust support delivery and budgets where necessary.Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with support coordinators, service delivery teams, and finance teams to ensure alignment between services delivered and the financial management of NDIS plans.Participant Support: Assist participants and their families in understanding their funding allocations and the services available to them under their NDIS plans. Provide clear, accurate information and advice on how best to utilize their funding.Problem-Solving & Adjustments: Address issues with funding allocation or service delivery, adjusting schedules or supports as necessary to meet participant needs and funding requirements.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve funding processes, documentation, and systems to streamline operations and ensure better outcomes for participants.Skills & Experience:
Payroll Processing Experience: Minimum of 3 years in payroll processing, including experience with complex pay structures and a variety of employment classifications.NDIS Plan Management: Experience working with NDIS funding and understanding how NDIS plan budgets impact payroll processing and employee entitlements.SCHADS Award Knowledge: Proven understanding of the SCHADS Award and experience interpreting and applying it in a payroll context.Problem-Solving: Ability to identify discrepancies, resolve payroll issues efficiently, and implement effective solutions.Schedule of Supports (SoS) Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in creating and managing Schedules of Supports, ensuring compliance with NDIS guidelines and the specific needs of participants.Strong Understanding of NDIS Guidelines: Knowledge of NDIS pricing arrangements, funding rules, and how to interpret and apply them for individual participants.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in processing payroll, including correct application of allowances, penalties, and NDIS-specific requirements.Technology Proficiency: Experience with payroll software (e.g., [insert specific software]) and Microsoft Excel or similar systems for data analysis and reporting.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients, and external stakeholders.Desirable:
Experience working in the disability services sector or with NDIS providers.Knowledge of NDIS service agreements, participant plans, and funding models.Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, or a related field are a plus.Familiarity with the Fair Work Act and industrial relations principles.Knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission regulations and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act.
