About the Opportunity
We are seeking senior botanists, zoologists or generalists as a member of our highly respected national Ecology team. You will contribute to Umwelt’s reputation for ecological projects across Perth and grow our service capacity in this area. We are looking for senior and associate ecologist candidates with diverse experience in field work, assessments, legislative awareness and solid reporting and project management skills.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Senior Ecologist, and have strong ecological survey, reporting and assessment skills. You would have a passion for field work and a drive for delivering high quality outcomes. About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist who has the following:
* Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, environmental science (or similar)
* 6+ years relevant experience
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies
* Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams
* Demonstrated experience in project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity projects
* Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members
* Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data
* Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing and reviewing reports – with a willingness to take responsibility for delivery of reports to final quality
* Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
* Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work
