Our staff are recognised as being central to achieving our mission.About the Role Townsville Catholic Education is seeking a dedicated School Officer - Instrumental Music Tutor (Guitar) for our following Townsville Schools. This role is a part time, fixed term (term time) position completing 15.50 hours per week across the 3 Townsville schools until the end of the 2025 teaching year.St Margaret Mary's College, Hyde Park (5.5 hours per week)Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan (10 hours per week)The School Officer – Instrumental Music Tutor works under general supervision of the Instrumental Coordinator to provide individual and small group instrumental music tuition to students.Key Accountabilities Under the general direction of the Instrumental Coordinator is accountable for duties including:Providing a program of study for individual students or groups of students;Setting priorities based on relevant syllabus, student goals, and skill level;Monitoring progress of students;Reporting to parents;Preparing students for external exams;Preparing students for individual and small group performances;Monitoring student attendance and progress and planning for the achievement of student outcomes;Identifying emerging issues to mitigate risks which may impact on student progress and achievement;Reporting of student progress and providing advice to parents and the Instrumental Coordinator.Typical Duties: Providing instrumental music tuition to individual or small groups of students;Preparing students for external exams (e.g., AMEB, Trinity College of London);Preparing students for performances, including Eisteddfod, concerts, liturgies, school events as required;Maintaining accurate attendance records and liaising with parents in relation to absences;Developing student timetables and schedules;Maintaining lesson plans and records of student progress and providing written reports to parents;Instructing students in, and monitoring the care and maintenance of their instruments and music facilities;Collaborating with other staff and the Instrumental Coordinator to promote the music program within the school and externally.Mandatory Criteria Diploma or degree qualification with appropriate experience or other relevant qualifications and experience acceptable to the employer;Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government;Current Driver's Licence;Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville;Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.How to Apply Upload a current resumeUpload a cover letter addressing the skills, attributes, and experience to support the key accountabilities of the role identified in the position descriptionComplete the application form including your two nominated professional referees (name, position title, and email address)Applications close 3.00pm Monday, 11 November 2024 unless filled prior.#J-18808-Ljbffr
