Katherine Town Council is the Municipal Council for Katherine, Northern Territory. We provide services to the community relating to rates, roads, infrastructure, animal control, waste management, and other core essential services.
Located in the heart of the Big Rivers region, Katherine is the fourth largest township in the Northern Territory. It serves as a major regional centre closest to the Port of Darwin, connecting Perth to Darwin from the west and Adelaide to Darwin through the north/south highway and rail corridor.

About the Role
This position reports directly to the Project Manager and provides high-level administrative support to the Projects Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring project deadlines, reporting on integral information, and ensuring effective communication across key stakeholders.

* Ability to understand various legislations, statutory obligations, and Council policies
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide professional secretarial and administrative support to the Infrastructure & Environment Services team
2. Liaise with external customers, user groups, stakeholders, and contractors
3. Undertake administrative duties to assist in tendering, procuring, and managing works and services
4. Oversee financial support for the Department, seeking quotes and tracking budgets
5. Assist with the management of Council contractors and facility hires
6. Input data, records, and information into current systems and programs
7. Process permits and applications received for Development Planning and other services
8. Work collaboratively with other Infrastructure and Environment Administration Staff and the rest of the organisation
Organisational Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
2. Comply with workplace procedures for risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control
3. Participate in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety
4. Identify and report health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, property damage, and mishaps at the workplace
