The Manager, Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement technical specialists within the Legal and Procurement team. The unit delivers high quality, consistent and efficient information, advice and support on procurement activities, reporting and governance to ensure compliance with state government requirements and to achieve value for money for SATC.
The Manager, Procurement will ensure effective, strategic, and tactical procurement practice across the SATC allocated or assigned department to deliver maximum value for SATC. This position is accountable for identifying solutions and providing expert advice on procurement matters that enable SATC to meet its strategic and operational objectives, utilising strong business acumen and broad category management expertise.
* Provide direction and guidance to procurement/contract specialists on procurement and contract management practice and procedure, probity questions and service standards.
* Promote the procurement teams' image and reputation, highlighting its role as a trusted advisor that seeks to work as partners with stakeholders whilst providing efficient and effective service delivery in its provision of considered, solutions-driven and pragmatic advice to enable SATC's to achieve its strategic priorities.
* Consistently influence others to achieve objectives, especially in times of change and difficult situations, such as short time frames and high pressures circumstances.
* Oversee the procurement function and staff which includes long-term planning of projects, administering and coordinating procurement processes, managing the preparation of tender documentation and contract specifications and administration of associated processes such as tender evaluation and selection processes and the finalisation of contract details with successful tenderers.
