Department of Health Tasmania – Hobart TAS The Registered Nurse - Anaesthesia Nursing: Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patient/clients, their families, and other health professionals.

The focus of the role is to collaborate with the Anaesthetist and other members of the perioperative team to provide safe, high-quality care to patients/clients following elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.

You will need: Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care within the perioperative anaesthesia field and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse, and ACORN Standards for Perioperative Nursing.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice within a perioperative practice setting.
Ability to undertake client education in the practice setting, together with a commitment to participate in ongoing professional development.
The ability to work with and manage highly technical anaesthetic and medical equipment and technology.

The Team: The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit team provides safe, high-quality care to patients/clients following elective and emergency procedural and surgical anaesthesia.
Details of appointment: Multiple permanent, full-time or part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
