We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant (General) to join our team. This role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, accounts management, and payroll processing. The successful candidate will play a key role towards important business decisions, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and maintaining compliance with Australian tax laws.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and credit cards to maintain accurate financial records.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.Accounts Payable & Receivable:Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements with a focus on accuracy.Reconcile customer accounts and follow up on outstanding debts.Address and resolve accounts-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.Taxation & Payroll Compliance:Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax returns, PAYG summaries, and superannuation payments.Process fortnightly payroll, including timesheet verification and payment authorisation.Ensure compliance with payroll obligations, workers' compensation, and superannuation liabilities.Assist in preparing tax returns for individuals and organisations.Accounting Information Systems & Technology:Utilise ODOO Accounting systems to manage financial data.Ensure the security and accuracy of accounting records and automated systems.Provide recommendations to improve financial processes using technology.Analyse aged debtors and implement strategies to minimise outstanding balances.Provide insights into financial risks and cost management strategies.Assist senior accountants in financial planning and forecasting.Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal controls.Required Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.Proficiency in ODOO Accounting - experience with Sales and Purchasing module preferred.Experience in financial reporting, accounts reconciliation, and payroll processing.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Compliance & Ethics:Adherence to Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) guidelines.Commitment to professional integrity, confidentiality, and ethical financial management.Compliance with relevant tax and financial regulations.
