THE ROLE
We are seeking part time disability support workers to work in Pakenham and Narre Warren.
The role has a focus on supporting clients with a disability in community recreational and leisure activities. This may include supporting clients to attend sporting, entertainment, cultural and social events, attending holidays, and day trips.
All roles within disability services may include supporting people with behaviours of concern and complex mental health issues and personal care.

The role requires the ability to work as part of a team, where reliability, commitment and a solution focus are critical success factors. The successful candidate must be flexible to work on public holidays, weekdays, after hours and weekends.
Manual handling tasks such as maneuvering wheelchairs, supporting people on and off transport, meal assistance, administration of medication, transporting and supporting people with behaviours of concern. There may also be administration component to the role which will involve some sitting and computer use.
YOUR SKILLS
To be a perfect fit for this opportunity you will have:
• Experience and skills supporting people with a range of disabilities.
• Experience with positive behaviour support
• Experience and skills supporting people with barriers in a variety of different situations
• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in the Disability or Community Services field.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Flexibility and a willingness to adapt
• Skills, empathy and acceptance - to support people with a range of disabilities and barriers
• Creativity and innovation – the ability to see outside the box and think of the impossible
Other requirements:
• Undertake a National Police Check
• Hold a current Working with Children Check
• NDIS worker screening
• Level 2 first aid and CPR certification
• Full Covid-19 vaccination
• A Current Driver's Licence
• Previous experience within the Community Services Sector will be highly regarded.
You will work as part of a team and supported by regular training and development opportunities. Remuneration will be based on the SCHADS Industry Award 2010.
