Your Next Employer Our client is a major player in Australia’s agricultural landscape, owning multiple large-scale cropping operations throughout the eastern states. The property we are recruiting for is circa 5,000ha (70% irrigated) and located in the heart of the Central Highlands near Rolleston - 120km south of Emerald. It is a key part of their portfolio and has recently benefitted from extensive upgrades to irrigation (currently running bankless, laterals and pivots) and water storage. With a strong focus on sustainable farming and continuous improvement, this is an environment where your input will directly impact long-term success. The Role This is your chance to step up into a leadership position, managing day-to-day operations on a high-yielding cropping property focused on irrigated cotton and rotational crops like sorghum, wheat, mung beans, and chickpeas. You will be mentored/exposed to all aspects of this farming operation - external agronomists to budgeting and more - and utilise a modern fleet of John Deere and Case machinery. Additional Key Responsibilities Assist in leading farm operations, with a focus on irrigation (pivot & lateral - no siphons) and cropping Assist in managing contractors - planting & harvesting Maintain and operate machinery, ensuring optimal performance and upkeep Assist in planning, logistics and general project management with support from agronomist and management teams Drive productivity with an eye toward performance bonuses tied to yield targets Note: individuals looking to step up into an Assistant Farm Manager role (from Senior Farm Hand / Similar) are also encouraged to apply What You Bring: Our ideal candidate will come with good commercial acumen and project management skills. Experience in cotton or irrigation is preferred but not essential. You’ll need to be adaptable, with leadership potential and exposure to farming within either a corporate or large family-run environment.
