The Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) is a National Common Police Service, administered by the Australian Federal Police (AFP). It specialises in the development of leadership capability for individuals and organisations involved in the innovative provision of policing, law enforcement, security, public safety, emergency services and related professions. Our programs are a blended delivery of online, distance education and residential sessions.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual with the appropriate expertise, experience and mindset to design and deliver contemporary and contextually relevant leadership development programs to meet the demands of the policing and public safety environment of the future.
The position reports to the AIPM Deputy Director and is influential in shaping the focus and strategic direction of our professional development programs and strategies. A background in the policing public safety or broader national security sectors is desirable, but not essential.
What will you do?
To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record in the delivery of high impact leadership development programs and initiatives in a blended learning environment. You will have demonstrated advanced facilitation skills in a range of contexts with a flair for both contemporary and future focussed approaches in the development of leadership capability. You will be adept in working across and beyond the AIPM, taking responsibility for leadership development programs whilst displaying the highest level of confidence, discretion and acumen in the engagement of senior executives and their teams.
You will provide specialist advice within the organisation as part of our overall evaluation, design and development processes of continuous improvement. You will provide advice and planning assistance externally to AIPM clients on co-designed and partnered leadership development programs. Comfortable operating in a matrix style work environment you will collaborate with, supervise and lead program delivery team members from across the AIPM to deliver specific program outcomes as required.
