The Facility
This is a 300-bed tertiary facility that provides acute care facilities and treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients annually.
The Emergency Department provides a 24-hour, 7-day a week emergency medical care service.
It is the only major emergency department in the North of the State.
Specialist emergency physicians are always on duty on weekdays, most weekends, and most evenings.
An emergency physician is on-call 24 hours a day for major trauma and critically ill medical cases.
The department is recognized for advanced training of emergency physicians.
The Requirements
You should possess:
- Registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration.
- At least 12 months recent experience as an ICU registrar in Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada, or New Zealand.
- Current participation in the CICM training program or intention to join.
- Eligibility for the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ) or IMGs assessed by CICM and found partially or substantially comparable.
