About the role
MacKillop in partnership with Mind Australia, VACCA, and Eastern Health Child and Youth Mental Services (CYMHS) are uniquely placed to deliver the Keep Embracing Your Success (KEYS) Model in the East Region. The model provides a multidisciplinary team who provide care to young people aged between 13-16 years with mental health and behavioural complexities due to experiences of adversity. MacKillop in collaboration with key partners, share a joint commitment to trauma informed, best practice.
The KEYS Residential House Supervisor is responsible for the KEYS program oversight and implementation. The role will be responsible for managing and supervising residential care support staff, specific to that of the KEYS model. The KEYS Residential House Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, supervision, oversight and standards of care of the young people residing, along with overseeing the specific day-to-day provision of high-quality residential care based on a therapeutic and trauma informed model of care.
This is a (Permanent / Casual / Full-time / Part-time / Fixed (xx hours per week – 0.x EFT until 30/6/21)) opportunity based in (INSERT LOCATION) within our (INSERT PROGRAM NAME). The position reports to the (INSERT REPORTING LINE)
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
* Relevant Bachelor Degree with experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units); or Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units).
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of residential care workers.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
* Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to support and lead a team.
* Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.

* Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
