HVAC Project Engineer/Estimator
At Airway Mechanical, we are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Engineer/Estimator to join our expanding team.
About the Role:
We require a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with expertise in developing cost estimates, analysing engineering drawings, and ensuring project compliance with relevant Australian standards and safety requirements.
* Develop accurate cost estimates for HVAC projects considering materials, labour, and production time.
* Analyse engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure project requirements are met.
* Optimise production sequencing and factory layout to enhance efficiency and resource utilisation.
* Ensure projects comply with relevant Australian standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with clients to design and document HVAC and mechanical systems.
* Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
* Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource requirements, and budgets.
* Evaluate and select appropriate materials, equipment, and fabrication techniques to enhance system performance and longevity.
* Provide technical expertise and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain and strengthen relationships with contractors, consultants, and industry partners.
About the Candidate:
We seek a candidate with:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
* Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, building services, and construction processes.
* Proven past record of estimating and relevant experience.
* Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
* Leadership, management, negotiation, and people skills.
* Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, Revit, Autocad, EstMep, Camduct).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
