We're focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can. This includes alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, and developing world-class health and wellbeing facilities.
Main Responsibilities
* Providing essential statutory support for the health and wellbeing of Victorians
* Addressing key priorities and challenges across all elements of Public Health, including protection, prevention, and health promotion
* Reporting to and partnering with the Deputy Secretary Community and Public Health to develop strategic direction
* Providing public health advice to high-level stakeholders, including the Minister, regarding preventing disease, promoting health, and careful risk management
Requirements
* Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or international equivalent
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in public health or equivalent
* A career record in the healthcare sector that will have credibility with stakeholders
* An innate ability to understand and operate in a government environment
