Who you are?
We are seeking applicants for the position of Sample Preparation Assistants, who are excited by the challenges of our business and variety these roles offer.
You will be based at Whyalla, SA whilst in training, which may then progress into some onsite work with our clients, long term.
You will be responsible for preparing mining samples for testing and using specialised equipment. You will be fully trained in the Sample Preparation process of predominantly Ore Samples or be involved in the simulation of minerals production processes, in order to test the properties of mineral samples.
Some of your tasks may be:
1. Sorting, weighing, crushing and milling.
2. Robotics operation.
3. Weighing, digestion and preparation of samples for analysis.
4. Follow and adhere to laboratory procedures.
5. Undertake tasks as requested by the supervisor.
6. Meet quality, TATs (Turn Around Times) and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) required for the role.
7. Maintain good laboratory housekeeping.
What will you bring to the role?
1. Reliable and ability to work a shift roster.
2. Physically fit, prepared to carry out manual tasks and able to lift up to 15 kg sample bags of rocks, sand or ore.
3. Sound numerical skills.
4. A methodical, well organised approach to your work.
5. Have the ability to follow set procedures and good attention to detail.
6. Be willing to work as part of a team, with a high focus on quality & safety.
Shift work roster available:
1. Monday to Friday during your training period.
2. Rotational roster with 12 hour shifts – (5 on and 4 off, then 4 on and 5 off)
3. This role will require 24/7 availability and will require you to work day and night shifts.
