The Special Mission Ground Handler plays a key part in ensuring that the Cairns base and aircraft are presented to a high standard at all times.This role operates during core business hours, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required for essential tasks out of hours or on weekends on occasions.Job DescriptionKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesUndertake cleaning of the interior and exterior of aircraftAssist engineers with ground handling activities, such as:Wing walk and clearance when aircraft are being movedConnect and disconnect GPUs and air-conditioning unitsCompressor washing enginesLiaise with external suppliers in relation to vehicle and facilities repairs and maintenanceGround Servicing Equipment inspections and raising repair ordersInspecting and receipting tooling in post repairsGeneral upkeep and housekeeping at the baseAd hoc general duties to support the smooth running of the Cairns base engineering departmentSkills and ExperienceEssentialPhysical fitness, with the ability to work at heightsMethodical approach to workFlexibility to work outside core business hours from time to timeDesirablePrevious ground handling experiencePrevious experience working in a mechanical or engineering environmentElevated Work Platform licenceForklift licenceFirst Aid/CPR certificate
