About the Role
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic payroll specialist to join our team. Working alongside a team of senior payroll professionals, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll functions, including exception checking, running of the payroll and reporting. You will also be instrumental in taking ownership of testing new releases for our recently implemented time & attendance system. This role is unique in scope and is pivotal in overseeing payroll, time and attendance and award interpretation projects. You will be empowered to take ownership of your projects and will have the ability to make a real difference.
In addition to the above scope, you will assume the following key duties and responsibilities:
* Data analysis and report writing
* Responding to queries, including award interpretation and system advice
* End of month processing as required
* Documenting payroll and system related procedures and checklists as required
About You
As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will have previous experience in high-volume payroll environment (5000+ employees) and demonstrate a high degree of comfort in working with payroll (Preceda preferred) and time & attendance systems. Along with your previous experience, you will have a sound knowledge of payroll related legislation, including superannuation, tax and Fair Work, and pride yourself on your attention to detail and accuracy.
To be successful as the Senior Payroll Officer, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
* Sound experience working in payroll systems (Preceda preferred but not essential)
* High level of numeracy and analytical skills
* Intermediate to advance knowledge of Excel
* Experience with documenting payroll procedures
* Experience with payroll reporting tools e.g., Crystal reporting
