The Opportunity This is a critical leadership opportunity for a high-performing finance professional to join the Fire Ant Eradication Program as AO8 Finance Manager for a six-month term. Based in Berrinba, you will lead the Finance and Governance function and support the strategic and operational delivery of one of Queensland’s most significant environmental programs. In this role, you will: Lead and manage the Finance and Governance team across finance, budget, and assets; Provide expert advice on governance, compliance, and financial frameworks; Collaborate with senior leaders to evaluate and deliver business support services; Drive process improvement and efficiency across financial systems and reporting; and Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across government and partner bodies. Required Experience This role requires a confident, technically skilled finance leader with strong public sector knowledge and the ability to provide high-level advice and oversight across governance and finance. You will bring: Demonstrated experience in government finance and governance roles; Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Word; Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities; Expertise in policy, compliance, and strategic financial planning; and Excellent written communication skills, particularly in briefings and reporting.
