About the Role
1. Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
2. Staffing and budget responsibilities: To facilitate budget and compliance by the efficient and effective use of resources.The following positions report to the Registrar or Senior Registrar: Intern, Junior House Officer and Senior House Officer.
3. Outpatient and Inpatient case management of patients with mycobacterial disease, including tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease under the supervision of a Consultant Physician.
4. Involvement in the population and public health aspects of mycobacterial disease, including disease notification and reporting, contact tracing, population screening, immigration screening and management of latent tuberculosis.
5. Involvement in the Queensland Mycobacterial Reference Laboratory with instruction on common laboratory testing for mycobacterial diseases.
6. Involvement in the epidemiological monitoring of mycobacterial disease in Queensland.
7. Involvement as required in after hours on-call roster.
8. Plan and implement clinical education strategies and programs for Junior Medical Staff, Nursing Staff and Health Practitioners in mycobacterial diseases by providing educational in-services and contributing to the Educational Programme and Meetings.
