Rare Opportunity | Large Organisation | 6 Month positionYour new companyHays Gippsland is proud to be partnering with a well-regarded organisation in their field, currently seeking a Safety Support Officer or Safety Administrator to join their team for an initial 6-month term, with the possibility of extension or a transition to a permanent role.You will be responsible for the followingSafety Support Officer:Leading site visits, inspections, incident investigations, and safety audits to ensure compliance.Coordinating medical services, including pre-employment medicals, and ensuring legislative compliance.Coaching stakeholders to enhance safety outcomes and foster a strong safety culture.Developing and improving safety procedures to comply with legislation and enhance performance.Managing OH&S service contracts and scheduling activities as required.Providing OH&S advice aligned with organisational policies and procedures.Safety Administrator:Supporting the Safety Lead in managing OH&S service contracts, scheduling activities, and overseeing workplace safety initiatives.Coordinating health and wellbeing initiatives to drive engagement across the organisation.Arranging OH&S training in line with legislative requirements, liaising with training providers and internal stakeholders.Managing reporting, invoice processing, document control, and compliance tasks.Providing timely OH&S advice to internal and external stakeholders.Shared Responsibilities:Supporting workplace safety by ensuring compliance with OH&S policies and legislative requirements.Managing and maintaining safety documentation, reporting, and communication tasks.Handling sensitive information, including health records, while ensuring privacy and confidentiality.Administering key safety systems and coordinating testing for lifting equipment, gas detection equipment, high-voltage equipment, and chemical management.Delivering safety projects and initiatives to promote health and wellbeing across the organisation.Performing general administrative and ad hoc duties to support the safety team.What you'll need to succeedDemonstrated experience or solid understanding in Health and Safety; qualifications within Health and Safety are highly advantageous.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, management professionals, and field staff.Excellent written and verbal communication, complemented by strong interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and maintain high attention to detail through effective organisation and time management.Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Strong problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated aptitude for innovative thinking.Advanced computer proficiency, including efficient use of multiple systems.What you'll get in returnYou will become part of a dedicated and energetic team, equipped with modern tools and technology to excel in your role.
