The Role:The North West Regional Hospital is seeking a motivated Allied Health Assistant to join their Physiotherapy Department.You will join an engaging and supportive team in a fast-paced clinical environment, with your primary workload being within the inpatient clinical areas (e.g., general medical and surgical wards), as well as some outpatient group classes.The Allied Health and Hydrotherapy Assistant will:Assist the daily functioning of allied health professional services throughout the Agency.Undertake tasks, under the supervision and delegation of allied health professionals, including preparation of equipment for use in treatment and other related tasks.Assist physiotherapists with their day-to-day tasks and patient care.Encourage and support patients to complete specific treatment plans prescribed by physiotherapists related to injury, illness, or disability-related physical issues.The Hospital:Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to coastal and wilderness areas, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie, is a 160-bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community. It provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics, and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania, thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.Details of appointment:Fixed term, part-time, day worker position, working up to 15.2 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join the team until 21 July 2025.Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $67,193 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata).
