SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES Business Partnering Serve as the primary finance partner, providing insights for expense management across business units. Lead the preparation of the Strategic and Business Plans. Deliver monthly performance reporting and insights, collaborating with the ILT to drive initiatives for performance and growth. Oversee coding of supplier invoices and expense reimbursements. Manage monthly reconciliations and prepare end-of-month management accounts. Support strategic initiatives and conduct financial modeling assessments as required. Prepare monthly papers and presentations for the ILT. Proactively manage and assess reinsurance arrangements, including exchange commissions. Analyze monthly Insurance Acquisition cash flows and monitor claims valuation reporting. Prepare financial documentation for the AM Best annual rating review and assist with the Financial Condition and Actuarial Valuation Reports. Contribute to board paper preparation for the Board. Tax / Statutory / Regulatory Responsibilities Manage tax risk through effective planning and mitigation strategies. Proactively manage capital through accurate forecasting. Support the Head of Finance in the annual preparation of Financial Statements. Oversee annual workers' compensation returns for TAS and WA. Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with the ILT, leadership, and key stakeholders. Exercise sound judgment in communications with stakeholders and peers. Stay connected with industry best practices through external networking. Collaborate effectively with the Group Actuary. Other Responsibilities Handle Commbiz banking approvals. Engage proactively in the delivery of initiatives and projects as needed. Work collaboratively across teams to achieve customer outcomes. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. CA/CPA qualification (desirable). KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE 8+ years of professional experience in accounting functions and services. Leadership experience with a small team.
