Principal – Corporate and Commercial

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and dynamic broker to join Marsh's Corporate and Commercial team in Adelaide. In this role you will be a senior member of the team and be responsible for the retention, growth and profitability of a portfolio of key mid-market accounts. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, pursuing new business development in conjunction with the Growth team, and expanding the breadth of Marsh products and services to our clients.

7. Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring that a high degree of quality customer service is provided to all clients at all times
8. Contribute towards the Company's profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of revenue and expense budgets
9. Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal process and results meet client expectations
10. Actively develop additional business from existing portfolio
11. Work with and assist leadership to prepare, manage, implement and achieve State business plans, strategies and goals
12. Meet and exceed service standards agreed in client’s service agreements
13. Maximise team and account profitability through the implementation of efficient and effective work practices, adequate client billing and sensible expense control
14. Provide clear and accurate delegation of key tasks to junior broking staff and supporting operations teams
15. Consistently meet and exceed revenue, expense and trading profit budgets
16. Develop and maintain effective relationships with decision makers within your portfolio of clients whilst taking an active role as Senior Relationship Officer for your team’s accounts
17. Possess and apply a thorough understanding of the client's business, risk management and insurance needs to ensure that our services and programs continue to meet with their needs and expectations
We would like you to have:
18. Significant experience managing a portfolio of mid-large Corporate clients, creating and converting new business and growth opportunities
19. Extensive technical skills on key General Insurance classes including Industrial Special Risks, General Liability, Motor Fleet, Marine and Accident & Health lines
20. Strong business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business functions including finance, management and risk
21. Excellent working relationships with insurers and underwriting partners
22. Exceptional communication, influencing/selling, problem solving and negotiation skills
23. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of client organisations including the ‘C’ Suite as well as internal Marsh stakeholders
24. Strong organisational skills in prioritising work, multi-tasking and consistently meeting deadlines
