It is also the largest non-government provider of rehabilitation services in Western Australia, with private and publicly funded services supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team.Your role at St John of God Mt Lawley HospitalYou will be responsible for providing a comprehensive non-clinical support service to ensure a safe environment for caregivers, patients and visitors at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.The PositionUndertakes regular patrols and active surveillance of hospital buildings and grounds in accordance with standard operating procedures.Investigates all incidents relating to breaches of physical and personal security and loss of property and prepares written reports on same.Provides reports and recommendations directed to the prevention of incidents and adverse occurrences, and provides security risk management services to patients, staff and property.Provides appropriate and immediate response to any call for assistance and liaises with law enforcement and other external agencies.Operates the Hospital security systems, including access control software, issuing of security cards and CCTV systems.Maintains complete confidentiality on sensitive security matters.Operates the Hospital fire systems and responds to emergency situations according to the Emergency Procedures Manual as part of the emergency response team.Responds to all codes as required, inclusive of code blacks; which have the potential to be involved in high risk or very high risk situations that can require physical/mechanical restraints, based on OVA assessment.Assists in conducting annual fire and evacuation drills throughout the Hospital.Maintains traffic and parking controls in accordance with Mt Lawley Hospital policies and procedures.Maintains a clean and safe working environment in relation to equipment storage and maintenance.Oversees the activities and resources of the equipment store to ensure service objectives are met.You will possess a Certificate II in Security Services (or higher) and a Security Officer Licence, or show a willingness to obtain these qualifications. Additionally, you will demonstrate strong communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong computer literacy skills are required, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, as well as proficiency in using spreadsheets and database systems.To succeed in this role, you must be able to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. A high standard of personal presentation and punctuality is essential, along with the flexibility and willingness to work shifts across day, afternoon, and night hours.
