About the Role:
Talent Focus are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join an Australian designer and manufacturer of mobility solutions. As a global company, our client has built an enviable reputation for producing highly customized and innovative assistive technology to enable their customers to push their boundaries.
Major Responsibilities:
* Ensure continuous production flow in line with business growth forecasts.
* Efficiently manage daily stock issues.
* Actively oversee the supply of raw materials, balancing internal warehouse needs and relationships with local and international suppliers.
* Manage the logistics of finished products and spare parts across Australia, Europe, and the USA.
* Maintain a high level of understanding of in-plant material flow and its impact on the line/ERP systems.
* Analyze and mitigate supplier risks, implement dual sourcing strategies, and expand the supplier base.
* Drive improvements in inventory and supply chain procedures to enhance efficiency and profitability.
* Serve as an advisory member of the product development team, sourcing materials and providing insights on Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD).
* Monitor supplier performance to ensure they meet quality and delivery standards; collaborate with other departments to qualify new suppliers.
* Work with Quality Assurance to achieve ISO 13485 compliance, focusing on supplier control and material controls.
* Exercise purchasing authority within company policy.
* Review and authorize site-level Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Set Kanban levels and re-order quantities.
Key Performance Indicators:
* Meet targets for supplier delivery, quality, inventory, and cost.
* Maintain ISO 13485 compliance.
* Review and authorize site-level SOPs.
* Achieve project milestones.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of engineering and technical background in complex manufacturing.
Business Systems Knowledge:
* Expertise in ERP systems, particularly JDE.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power BI.
Personal Attributes and Leadership Competencies:
* Ability to work on the front lines to ensure production flow.
* Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
* Practical and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
* Ability to design effective restocking solutions, set minimums, and determine re-order points.
* Capable of prioritizing workload and effectively interacting and negotiating with various personalities and organizational levels.
* A strong drive for efficiency and continuous improvement.
Additional Information:
* Oversee a diverse range of products with 3,000 SKUs, all customized and based on our own designs.
* This role reports to the Operations Manager.
* Lead a team of 5 direct reports.
* Willingness to travel internationally one to two times per year may be required.
