Full time, continuing position with the University of Sydney An exciting opportunity as an experienced Compliance and Assurance Manager Base Salary $140,913 - $148,648 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Compliance and Assurance Manager provides expert advice to stakeholders on intricate compliance and assurance topics. They lead the review and implementation of compliance frameworks, obligations and controls and guide comprehensive evaluations across multiple operational domains. They also ensure activities adhere to regulatory obligations, internal university policies, and guidelines and lead the creation of complex informational resources for optimal decision-making.Your key responsibilities will be to: Implement and monitor COS compliance frameworks and processes to ensure adherence to University policies and legislative requirements, while aligning with broader university goals. Serve as a compliance SME, providing practical advice, regular communication and engagement, delivering training, and fostering a proactive compliance culture through regular engagement with COS staff and leaders. Align compliance and assurance plans with COS strategies, providing oversight of the team's staffing, decision-making, and implementation of evaluation systems to improve performance. Liaise with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders, championing stakeholder engagement strategies to drive collaborative initiatives and uphold the work areas' objectives. Support the leadership and mentoring of the risk services team, fostering talent management, reduction of key person risk, career development, and succession planning to ensure future leadership readiness. About you Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Demonstrated ability to develop and/or implement and manage compliance with a wide range of administrative policies, systems, and procedures. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters. Understanding of compliance, risk resilience, and management as well as audit techniques. Compliance experience in a complex organisation is desirable.
