About the Role
As the Senior Practitioner - Integrated Family Services you will be responsible for delivering high-quality case work and case management for vulnerable children, young people, and families. This role plays a key part in supporting the Team Leader by supervising and mentoring staff and coordinating the delivery of programs like Integrated Family Services, Finding Solutions, Adolescent Support Program, and Family Preservation and Reunification.
In this role you be expected to manage a client caseloads, advocate for the programs, and develop innovative solutions to achieve positive outcomes.
To be successful in this role you must possess a strong understanding of relevant legislation related to young people, education, and employment. You will be required to build and maintain relationships with community contacts, stakeholders, and funding partners to drive positive outcomes for clients within the Family Services programs.
A full list of key duties is outlined in the Position Description, but includes responsibilities in:
• Assist the Team Leader to effectively administer the programs services in accordance with program service plans, service agreements and funding body requirements, including providing operational support to the staff in the programs.
• Provide 1:1 counselling and family work to vulnerable children, young people and their families
• Provide specialist consultation on youth specific practice to other partners in the Child and Family Services Alliance.
• Undertake case management and case work including:
- intake,
- assessment,
- case coordination,
- case reviews and
- case closure.
Do your skills include:
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, mentoring, supervising and supporting staff.
• Ability to effectively network and collaborate with a wide range of Government and non-Government agencies.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation relevant to the role, case management practice, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate experience in liaising with a diverse range of clients.
Are your credentials:
• A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Welfare Work or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: i.e. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
