Accessibility PractitionersAs a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will work as part of an accessibility team helping multiple delivery teams to build accessible and inclusive enterprise class systems for the department.
In a predominantly Microsoft and Azure technology environment, you will work in an agile based environment with UI/UX Designers, Service Designers, Business and System Analysts, Software Designers and Developers, SCRUM Teams, Product Owners, Product Managers, and System Users to advocate for, review, assess, maintain, and support Digital Accessibility of the department's enterprise systems.You will understand digital diversity and have a passion for accessibility with the necessary technical skills to assess software accessibility and to propose and manage specific requirements throughout the systems development and sustainment lifecycles.Estimated start dateApril 2025Initial contract durationMarch 2026Extension term24 monthsLocation of workACT, NSW, VICSecurity clearanceAbility to obtain Baseline Security ClearanceKey duties and responsibilities Participating in routine design, planning, and estimation sessions.Working with delivery and sustainment teams to identify opportunities for accessibility improvements.Performing accessibility reviews of design wireframes, prototypes, developed interfaces, and existing systems.Using assistive technologies such as screen readers (desktop, mobile), speech recognition software, operating system, and browser accessibility features, etc, to assess accessibility compliance and needs.Performing WCAG compliance audits of websites, mobile applications, digital documents, emails, etc.Creating and managing accessibility work items using Azure DevOps.Collaborating with delivery team members to produce quality work.How to applyApply directly or for more information on this role, please contact Kalpana Palaniyappa on or email your resume to for consideration.Calleo is an equal opportunity employer and we encourage applications from all people including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
