Thomas Global Systems designs, manufactures and supports innovative and dependable aviation, defence electronics and training simulation solutions for commercial and military customers worldwide.Reporting to the CEO, the Communications and Marketing Manager will work closely with key senior executives and play a key role in supporting Thomas Global Systems' growth ambitions and enhancing the business' brand globally.About the Role The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication and marketing initiatives within the defence and aerospace sectors.The role will drive Thomas Global Systems' brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and innovative marketing campaigns to support business growth and reinforce our reputation as a leader in the industry.The role will involve managing media and authoring impactful press releases, supporting the executive in all external communications, engaging with government agencies, military organizations, and private sector partners while adhering to regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality.Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Execution:Collaborate with leadership to position the company as a trusted partner in the defence and aerospace industry.Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.Establish and maintain the organization's brand within the defence and aerospace sector.Monitor trends and developments to help guide strategic decisions.Government & Stakeholder Communication:Liaise with the organization and government/military stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.Ensure all communications comply with industry standards and government regulations.Marketing Campaign Development:Design targeted marketing campaigns to promote products or services within the industry.Create brochures, case studies, and other materials for products and services.Identify and pursue opportunities to showcase the organization at expos, trade shows, and industry conferences.Public Relations & Crisis Management:Manage media relations, ensuring accurate representation of the organization's capabilities and achievements.Draft press releases, talking points, and responses to inquiries related to company initiatives.Lead crisis communication efforts in response to sensitive events or public scrutiny.Digital & Content Marketing:Oversee the creation of content for digital platforms, focusing on thought leadership and expertise in defence and aerospace technologies.Manage SEO, SEM, and social media efforts to reach focused audiences effectively.Leverage analytics to refine messaging and improve campaign performance.Brand Management and Awareness:Ensure brand consistency across all communications, aligning messaging with organizational values and industry standards.Promote the organization's reputation for innovation, reliability, and expertise within the sector.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and programs, to develop aligned strategies.Collaborate with external agencies and consultants specializing in the defence and aerospace industry.Compliance & Confidentiality:Ensure all communication and marketing materials comply with regulations, export controls, and non-disclosure agreements.Safeguard sensitive information, adhering to classification and confidentiality protocols.Required Skills, Experience and Behaviors: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.Minimum 5 years experience in Marketing and Communications with a minimum of 2 years in the defence or aerospace industry.Familiarity with defence contracts, procurement processes, and government agency operations.Strong knowledge of defence sector dynamics, terminology, and trends.Exceptional writing and editing skills, particularly for technical and government audiences.Proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and CRM platforms.Proficiency in WordPress for website admin, Campaign Monitor (or similar EDM platform), Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign and Photoshop).Advanced level in MS Office – particularly PowerPoint.Experience with defence industry trade shows, RFPs, and proposal development.Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and adjust strategies accordingly.Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability under pressure.Preparation for and travel to trade shows both regionally and internationally where required.Working with us: Our people and culture are key to our purpose and success.We have a passion to perform and deliver exceptional results.Our leadership is open and collaborative; we hire talented people and trust them to be great.Our people are rewarded with competitive remuneration, engagement activities, recognition, and opportunities for learning and development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
