Company Description
Tiwi Resources Pty Ltd was established in 1991 to assist Tiwi to gain economic opportunities for the Tiwi People from the use of their land. This includes income generated from such activities as mining, carbon, fishing and forestry. Proceeds are distributed by the Tiwi Resources Trust to help relieve poverty, advance education, and support cultural and ceremonial activities on the Tiwi Islands.
Tiwi Resources Pty Ltd is owned by the 8 Tiwi Land Owning Groups: Malawu, Mantiyupwi, Munupi, Marrikawuyanga, Tikalaru, Wurankuwu, Wulirankuwu and Yimpinari. Tiwi Resources works closely with the Tiwi Land Council to ensure that Tiwi people benefit from opportunities as they arise.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Wurankuwu Harvesting Team Coordinator located in Tiwi Islands, NT. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the harvesting team's day-to-day tasks, coordinating schedules, ensuring productivity, and maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
1. Involved in Prawn Farming, Medicinal Plants, Bush Foods
2. Strong organisational and coordination skills
3. Ability to lead and motivate a team
4. Knowledge of harvesting techniques and best practices
5. Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor environments
6. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
7. Experience working with Indigenous communities is a plus
