We are seeking a qualified and experienced chef to join our team at Alma, a Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing menu items, estimating food consumption, and organizing kitchen operations. They will also manage a team of staff, delegate tasks, and ensure high-quality presentation and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
">
2. Estimate expected food consumption and organize preparation accordingly
">
3. Manage whole kitchen operations, including staff supervision and training
">
4. Delegate preparation tasks to cooks and assistants
">
5. Cook food using commercial equipment, maintaining quality and presentation standards
">
6. Check food while cooking and supervise the quality of ingredients
">
7. Ensure great presentation before meals are served
">
8. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and orderly environment in the kitchen
">
9. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly according to regulatory requirements
">
10. Monitor stock levels and keep records of wastage
">
11. Open and close kitchen procedures as required
">
12. Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific dietary concerns
">
Requirements:

* Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply

* At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
">
* Minimum 1 year work experience in a commercial kitchen setting

* Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment leading a team of cooks and assistants
