Bring your estimating & office fitout expertise, as well as your personal drive and initiative to a top tier workplace design & construction company.The Company You will be working for an innovative and forward-thinking workplace design and construction company whose consistent successes over the last 30 years has led to them being one of the industry leaders in Sydney.With an incredible reputation, a great work-environment and a fantastic company culture, this really is a company that you will be proud to work for.The Role Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Estimator is responsible for compiling estimates of costings to provide clients or potential clients with Design and Construct products and services and create budgets accordingly.The role includes assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing cost comparisons of sub-contractors and suppliers.You will play a crucial role in preconstruction management, including detailed site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential project risks and associated risk costs.This position requires close coordination with Project Directors, Design, Project Management, Internal divisions (Plasterboard, Electrical, Manufacturing) and external subcontractors, to ensure all aspects of the project are covered and align with the client's expectations.Duties Build and maintain excellent, friendly and professional relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.Site attendance to identify and assess building limitations and/or risks to enable accurate pricing.Consult with Design team, engineers, private certifiers, Internal divisions (Plasterboard, Electrical, Manufacturing) and other technical consultants to ensure design intentions are met.Completing estimates in compliance with the clients/ stakeholder expectations of time and quality.Liaise with Design team members to ensure pricing is accurate with the Design Intent as well as making recommendations of finishes to meet the project budget.Extensive knowledge and research to ensure understanding of current market values across all aspects of the project stages without reliance of trades quotes.Manage estimating handovers to the Project Delivery team/s.Ensuring appropriate level of quality is achieved in accordance with conditions of contract and quality management system.Adherence to company processes, policies and WHS requirements. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying or Project Management, Certificate IV or higher.Minimum 3 years' experience within the Construction Industry (preferably in the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sector) as an Estimator.Sound understanding of working with Design & Construct proposals with prompt budget and market tendering experience.Working experience in MS Project, Excel, and Word are essential, experience in Procore and Proest desirable.Ability to read and interpret architectural and services plans and specifications.Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Personal drive, initiative and resourcefulness.
