Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Artist Booker & Event Programmer to join our existing programming team to play a key role in booking a diverse and exciting range of events. As the Artist Booker & Event Programmer, you will be responsible for sourcing, booking, and programming artists across various genres for our festivals and venue shows. You will work closely with company directors, marketing, and production teams to ensure that all events are well-coordinated and successful. This role requires a deep understanding of the music industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a strong existing network of contacts with artists, agents, and promoters.
Contract Term: 12-month initial term with view to extend. Commencement: February/March 2025 (negotiable).Days per week: Negotiable. Min 3 days p/w. Opportunity for a Full-Time role. Payment Package: Variable depending on experience + super + leave entitlements.
Key Role Description: The Artist Booker and Event Programmer will work closely with the Creative Director and Venue Booker to procure artists for events and festivals across The Tivoli and The Princess Theatre, as well as other events outside our two venues. They will also work collaboratively with the existing programming team to work on enquiry conversion strategies and new event concepts.

Key Responsibilities:Artist Booking & Programming:
Execute, and contribute to a strategic artist booking plan for The Tivoli Group’s festivals, events and venues.
Support key events and collaborations with Brisbane Comedy Festival, Open Season, Brisbane Festival, Melt Festival and others.
Identify, approach, and negotiate with artists, bands, DJs, and other performers to secure a diverse lineup for events.
Maintain a strong focus on diversity and inclusion throughout all facets of the role.
Develop new and innovative event concepts and ideas.
Maintain and nurture strong relationships with artists, agents, and promoters to ensure ongoing collaboration.
Research emerging talent and trends to keep programming fresh, relevant, and appealing to our target audiences.
Event Planning & Coordination:
Collaborate with the production and marketing teams to plan and coordinate various aspects of events, from artist logistics to set times and promotional activities.
Work closely with the management team to establish budgets, fees, and contracts for artists and events.
Financial Management & Negotiation:
Negotiate artist fees, contracts, and agreements to align with budgetary requirements and strategic goals.
Mitigate financial risk with careful planning, research and negotiations.
Track and manage booking budgets, payments, and expenditures.
Prepare financial reports and analysis for review by senior management.
Collaboration & Networking:
Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the local, national, and international music industry.
Attend industry events, showcases, and conferences to build relationships and stay informed about the latest developments and opportunities.
Act as a positive brand ambassador for The Tivoli Group, promoting our festivals and venues to potential artists, sponsors, and collaborators.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience in artist booking, programming, or talent management within the music festival or live entertainment sector.
Strong understanding of the music industry, including knowledge of artist contracts, negotiation, and event planning.
Extensive network of contacts within the music industry, including artists, agents, and promoters.
Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in budget management and financial planning for events.
Passion for live music and entertainment, with a keen eye for emerging trends and talent.
