About the Role Our environment has a large assortment of custom built platforms (Symfony PHP) covering key business processes, reporting, warehousing and other areas. Connected with our custom built platforms we Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), Salesforce and SAP. We are working on modernising our custom built platform, adding features and making it more robust, whilst also integrating large SAAS platforms, enabling us to scale the business. This role is 70% developing, 20% integrating, 10% strategy / documentation. We are looking for our next rockstar to join our team that can help us continue to advance our custom-build platforms, plus assist with the integration of new technology within the business by bringing their years of experience as a developer. Reporting to the Technology & Project Director. You will join a medium sized IT team consisting of developers, operational support and QA testers. You will enable us to increase our velocity and quality of the work we do. What would be your key responsibilities? Designing, developing web applications Working with legacy and cutting edge technologies Coding solution, reviewing other developers’ code Establish coding standards, naming conventions, programming practices Building/refactoring CI/CD pipelines Documenting technical debt, assessing risk and effort Identifying opportunities for improvements in integration, code efficiency and response times Identify technical debt and implement a solution in reducing technical debt that can be measured and reported on Being a gatekeeper in ensuring that we have well documented technical knowledge on technical design, implementation, technical process flows and changelogs Be a hands-on proactive developer that is able to tailor solutions that deliver business value with the objective of future stability and maintainability with minimal technical debt Be a hands-on proactive developer that is able to tailor solutions that deliver business value with the objective of future stability and maintainability with minimal technical debt Documentation of all developed features including process maps Build and configure the platform in accordance with Business Acceptance Criteria from our IT ticketing system. Ensuring test cases are provided for validation by our QA team Develop and optimise automated workflows, processes, and triggers to streamline business operations. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex business requirements and propose innovative solutions. Qualifications and Experience: 7 years continuous experience as a Senior PHP Developer Extremely deep skillset with PHP development Experience with Magento 2 and Symfony Framework Experience with AWS (RDS, MySQL, Lambda, EC2 etc) Experience with integration platforms (Workato) Excellent communication skills and interact effectively with internal stakeholders.
