As part of a multidisciplinary team, this role will deliver a high level of person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care to clients of all ages. The Allied Health Clinician - Head to Health Phone Service (Central Intake and Referral Service) is responsible for undertaking mental health assessment over the phone and referring individuals to appropriate mental health services Statewide or to other suitable community or private sector services.
The Team:
As part of a multidisciplinary team, this role will deliver a high level of person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care to clients of all ages in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Role:
* Provide advice and information to callers of the Head to Health Phone Service, including consumers, carers and health professionals, about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and supports.
* Complete mental health assessments over the phone using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) and refer individuals to appropriate services according to their identified level of care.
* Provide leadership, secondary consultation, case review and assistance to other clinical and non-clinical team members.
You will need:
* A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to mental health services
* Ability to build rapport to manage sensitive and difficult situations in an empathetic manner.
* Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to improve outcomes for clients, carers, and internal and external stakeholders.
Details of appointment:
Multiple fixed term full time and part time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until June 2026.

Salary: $110,425 to $126,703 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
* Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
* Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
