Third-generation broadacre cropping farm in Elmore, VIC, seeks a senior farm hand to join our productive business The Role This unique third-generation property has a rich history that combines heritage infrastructure with modern facilities. Situated 10 km from Elmore, Victoria, this family-owned and operated broadacre cropping enterprise spans 1635 hectares and focuses on grain, hay, and sheep production. This versatile piece of land yields high-quality crops, exports oaten hay, runs Merino wethers on the non-arable areas and stores lambs after harvest. The property primarily consists of 1,510 hectares of cropping land, producing various crops such as wheat, barley, canola, faba beans, and oaten hay. The business manages all farming tasks using its own equipment, which includes sowing, spraying, spreading, harvesting, hay production, and carting. The operation utilises modern machinery, including Fendt tractors, Case header, a Case self-propelled spray rig, a Massey Ferguson mower conditioner/windrower, a Kuhn baler, and a Western Star truck with dog trailers. As a senior farmhand, your responsibilities will include all aspects of farm management and the cropping cycle, as well as machinery maintenance, sheep husbandry, and general maintenance of the farm. The Ideal Candidate We seek candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role who demonstrate a genuine passion for the agricultural industry and a comprehensive understanding of the cropping cycle. Strong attention to detail is essential, along with a commitment to taking pride in both individual responsibilities and the quality of the products produced.
