This merit list/pool may be used to fill other vacancies anywhere in Australia.About the Regulatory Policy and Strategy (RPS) BranchThe Regulatory Policy and Strategy (RPS) Branch consists of six teams responsible for the integrity of Child Care Subsidy payments, including policy and advice to Government on integrity, education, and engagement with the child care sector, internal reviews, data analysis, and intelligence.The Intelligence Analytics Section is responsible for delivering Child Care Subsidy integrity data analysis, evaluations, and intelligence functions. The team works closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertakes analysis of Child Care Subsidy and related data to detect high-risk behaviour patterns, identify targets for compliance and fraud activity, assess and prioritise referrals to compliance and fraud investigations teams, and deliver operational data and intelligence support.Position OverviewReporting to the Director, the Assistant Director, Integrity Analytics will oversee the technical and analytical functions of the RPS Branch, focusing on managing data processes. A critical responsibility includes managing the extract, transform and load (ETL) processes to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of large datasets. This role also requires expertise in data visualisation, manipulation, and modelling to transform raw datasets into actionable insights for decision-making and reporting. The Assistant Director, Integrity Analytics will ensure that data-driven analyses support the RPS Branch in achieving the vision and objectives of the Child Care Financial Integrity Strategy.The key duties of the position include:Managing the extract, transform and load (ETL) process to bring granular child care data across from Services Australia’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for integrity purposes.Developing data analysis, modelling and visualisations to support compliance operations and fraud investigation teams.Developing and maintaining dashboards to track operational outcomes and providing insights that support organisational performance.Providing administrative support regarding data systems, including the intelligence and investigation case management system (iBase).Developing supporting materials for end users and delivering data analytics training.Supporting Intelligence Analytics teams in developing the integrity detection program and establishing data governance processes and frameworks.Building and sustaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and representing the department in external forums.Employment ConditionsEmployment at the Department of Education is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.Security Clearance: This is a designated security assessed position.
